Queenscourt provides a wide range of services to support patients facing the end of their lives, whether in hospice, hospital, community or care homes across West Lancashire, Southport and Formby. This can only be achieved with the assistance of our magnificent band of 700 volunteers. Queenscourt Outside was initially launched to provide volunteers to work in people’s home to support to patients and provide respite to families.

Queenscourt Outside is now looking to expand its volunteer workforce to work in Southport Hospital.

Would YOU like to get involved with this exciting new development?

As a Queenscourt Outside Volunteer in Hospital, you will visit patients who have been recognised in the last hours to days of life. You will provide much needed support to patients and their families. This may be achieved simply by sitting with patients, chatting quietly or providing a simple hand massage. It also provides comfort to families who are unable to keep vigil at a patient’s bedside.

Volunteers will receive comprehensive training and support. You will be expected to be able to provide a minimum of 1-2 hours per sit and will be required to be responsive at short notice (24-48 hours)

If you are interested or would like to apply for a position please get in touch with Lynne Shelbourne or Caroline Gregson, Transform Team Admin Co-Ordinators on 01704 517924 or for an informal discussion please contact Louise Charnock, Transform Clinical Lead on 01704 517924
