Lucy Gore

Student nurse Lucy Gore must be our luckiest Lottery player having won her second jackpot in just 18 months!

While Lucy, 21, has been supporting Queenscourt for many years, she only signed up to our Lottery in May 2018 but admits she is a lucky person.

“I can’t believe I have won again,” she said, “but I do seem to be lucky. Whenever I enter things, such as charity raffles, I always win something. I didn’t think about winning when I started the Lottery, though, I just wanted to support Queenscourt.”

That support goes back to 2001 when Lucy’s gran, Jane Rimmer, was cared for by Queenscourt. Since then her family have helped fundraise for Queenscourt by taking part in various events, including Start Trekk, our annual night walk which Lucy has taken part in 7 times so far.

In addition to this, Lucy fundraised for Queenscourt when she was a Girl Guide and also when she took part in the National Citizen Service scheme at age 16.

Lucy works at the Royal Liverpool Hospital and from March to July this year she was based on a Covid ward, so as a key worker, she is well aware that Queenscourt needs all the support we can get to continue caring for local people when they need us the most.

Lucy is therefore kindly donating some of her Lottery jackpot winnings back to help Keep Queenscourt in Service. The rest she will put towards saving up for a new home.
