During Hospice Care Week, we want to say ‘thank you’ to all our wonderful volunteers.
Sadly Covid-19 has meant that many of our volunteers have been unable to fulfil their usual roles with us, but we have been staying in contact with them by holding virtual get-togethers, sending out e-newsletters and making telephone calls. We just want to ensure they know how much we appreciate and miss them.
We held our Ten-Year Voluntary Service Awards ceremony – virtually of course, when nine volunteers were commended. The recipients were: Margaret Bradbury, Joan Martlew, Pam and Derek Owens, Jane Sephton, Hazel Younger, Brenda Dawson, Daniel Garner and Andrew Moorhouse.
Queencourt’s shops are now open again and we’d like to thank the volunteers who have returned.
Alicia has been helping in our Formby store when she is not in college. She said: "I really enjoy volunteering for Queenscourt. It’s great to meet new people and I have learnt new skills.
Another of our Formby shop volunteers is Alan Tippett, who said: “I enjoy meeting new people and eating the biscuits, but jokes aside I enjoy working with all the people that I have - everyone is so friendly.”
If you would like to join our retail team as a volunteer, please pop into a shop for an application form or email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
