Anthony Crewe is another of our Volunteer Trustees who is relying on technology as he continues to support our Directors, Staff, Patients and their families.
As part of his role as a Trustee, Anthony would normally come into Queenscourt once a month to attend Council meetings but when the pandemic struck, he was unable to attend the meetings in person.
“We now hold the meetings digitally which is great because it has allowed me as a Council member to feel I am still contributing and helping the hospice without having to set foot inside,” said Anthony, who has been a Trustee since 2016. “It is important the Directors know that they have our support at this very challenging time.”
Anthony added: “What comes out of every meeting is just how dedicated all the staff are and the fantastic work they are still doing to deliver essential care for patients, their families and carers. It’s quite humbling.”
Anthony has also seen for himself how Queenscourt has adapted to these unprecedented times. “If this had happened five or 10 years ago, I’m not sure how we would have kept our essential services going, but aside from continuing to provide physical care for patients, technology has enabled the team to deliver Day Therapy and other services at home via Zoom and similar virtual platforms.”
