Celebrating National Volunteers’ Week 2020, we are taking a look at the marvellous achievements of friends Stuart Dundas and John O’Neill, who between them have raised over £1,600 for Queenscourt in recent weeks.
Keen cyclists, the pair decided to ride 26 miles a day for 26 consecutive days in memory of their friend, Paul Quirk who died in April following a short illness and had been cared for at Queenscourt.
Both Stuart and John are volunteers at Queenscourt, although Covid-19 restrictions mean they are currently unable to continue with their invaluable work.
The pair have been volunteering at the hospice for about six years and would encourage others to get involved once we are able to start recruiting again. Both men have driven ambulances for Queenscourt, transporting patients to and from their homes, although more recently John has been devoting his time to assisting with home visits and daycare.
