Niall Carroll was so desperate to thank Queenscourt for all the support his mum has received over the past year that he took on his own 2.6 Challenge which has so far raised over £1,300.
The 11-year-old St Bede’s School pupil cycled 2.6 miles, ran 2.6km, did 26 star jumps, 26 sit-ups, 260 stepper steps, held the plank for 2.6 minutes and shot 26 baskets – all in two sessions on Sunday.
It is not the first fundraising Niall has done for Queenscourt, as he raised £273 by taking part in last year’s Santa Sprint.
His mum Nicki, who has benefited from Queenscourt’s services, said: “I am super proud of him. The last year has been pretty rubbish (all good now though) and I will be forever in the debt of Queenscourt for the care and support that they have given to me and my kids..
“Queenscourt was my little place of calm amongst the pain and chaos; my sanctuary that helped to keep me on the path of positivity. I will never be able to repay them for what they have done for me, but Niall just wants to give something back.”
