Care 'at home' in conjunction with existing excellent community services, aiming to keep 'at home' those who wish to stay 'at home'
The 'Queenscourt at Home' pilot service 2009/10, was comprehensively evaluated by Edge Hill University's Evidence-based Practice Research Centre. It makes for interesting reading. Read a copy of the report here(pdf file)
Essentially 73% of those who received the service were able to stay and be cared for in their own home and only 4% were admitted to hospital at the end of life. Even for those who lived alone 69% were able to stay in their own home! Queenscourt at Home does what it sets out to do.
